Chez Simon
The farmhouse is situated in a small hamlet named "Le Moulin Vieux" on the edge of the village Ars. The hamlet is clustered around an old water mill and the guesthouse is on one side of this collection of houses and barns. The River Né, a tributary of the Charente, runs at the end of the lane. The guesthouse is perfectly placed for visiting the surrounding countryside, historic towns and villages, or the coast (approximately an hour's drive away), to say nothing of Cognac itself and its Maisons de Cognac. The village of Ars has a renowned church with 12th and 13th century features.
Simon, your host, has lived and worked here for over fourteen years and has much local knowledge. As well as maintaining the house and garden, he works as assistant to the cellar-master of the exclusive cognac producer "Gourmel". Private visits and tastings can be arranged. He aims to provide a relaxing ambiance and will always be on hand to help, not hinder.
This picture shows a feature of the courtyard - a perfect setting for your evening aperitif.
